One of my favorite actors is actually Willie Nelson! He is not only an amazing singer/songwriter but has also starred in many films:

Electric Horsemen (1979) Willie played a character named Wendell Hickson, which is a small part but he has 5 songs on the sound track of this film.

Thief (1981) Starring James Caan who plays Frank, a jewel thief and hardened ex-convict. Willie plays Okla, Franks closest friend from prison.

Honeysuckle Rose (1980) Romantic drama film also known as "On The Road Again" with Willie Nelson as Buck Bonham, a country singer struggling to find national fame. He juggles his music career with his responsibilities to his wife and son. Also starring Dyan Cannon as his wife, Viv Bonham and Amy Irving as Lily Ramsey.

Barbarosa, a 1982 film starring Willie Nelson as a famous bandito (outlaw) named Barbarosa (in Spanish meaning red-beard) that hooks up with a young Texas cowboy named Karl Westover that accidentally kills his brother-in-law and has to flee to Mexico. One of my very favorite Willie movies - a must see!

Coming Out of the Ice (1982) with John Savage,. Willie plays a character named Red Loon. A true story about Victor Herman who immigrates to the Soviet Union in 1930 as a child, becomes a star athlete but refuses to renounce his American citizenship and spends 38 years in the Soviet Union prison system.

Songwriter (1984) Willie stars with Kris Kristoferson who play long time friends and stars of the Nashville music scene. Willie and Kris wrote most of the songs for this film and they are great together.

Red-Headed Stranger 1986, Based on Willie's 1975 album "Red Headed Stranger", Willie plays a lead role of a preacher with Morgan Fairchild as his wife that takes off with another man. With pistol in hand, the Preacher seeks vengeance. Another one of my favorites!

Once Upon a Texas Train (1988)Willie plays a veteran outlaw that robs a bank shortly after being paroled from jail. He gets his old gang together and they set out to rob the same train that got him into trouble 20 years earlier.

Pair of Aces (1990) Willie plays Billie Roy Barker, an outlaw, and Kris Kristofferson is Rip Metcalf, the ranger.

Wag the Dog (1997), Starring Dustin Hoffman and Robert De Niro, Willie plays a character named Johnny Dean.

Stagecoach (1986) This film has an excellent cast - Willie Nelson as Doc Holliday, Kris Kristofferson as Ringo/Ringo Kid, Johnny Cash as Marshal Curly Wilcox & Waylon Jennings as Hatfield (gambler). Need I say more!

Outlaw Justice, (1999) This is an action filled western with a great cast of Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Travis Tritt and Waylon Jennings. A group of former outlaws team up to catch a killer.

The Dukes of Hazzard (2005) Based on the television series, Willie plays Uncle Jesse Duke and of course Daisy is played by Jessica Simpson.

Beer for My Horses (2008) a comedy inspired for Tobi Keith's number 1 hit song "Beer For My Horses". Willie plays a character named Charlie.

Surfer, Dude (2008) A tale of a soul searching surfer starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, Willie plays a character named "Farmer Bob". Hysterical.

He has made guest appearances on Miami Vice, Delta, Nash Bridges, The Simpsons, Monk, Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, King of the Hill, Bones, The Colbert Report and Space Ghost Coast to Coast to name a few.The 10-time Grammy winner's music has featured in more than 100 films and TV projects.

Willie, the actor, has been acting for 30 years and has now launched a new production company called "Luck Films". The plan on producing 3 to 5 films a year and many will feature the star himself! Willie Nelson is a classic example of how a positive mental attitude and a "keep going" attitude can lead you to success.  He has had his share of trouble along the way for sure but that hasn't stopped Willie yet! He is not only still touring and putting many miles on the Honeysuckle Rose IV bus, jamming on his guitar "trigger", he is also active in Farm Aid, Biodiesel ("Bio-Willie"), Luck Productions and the list goes on.
